Born in London, Anna began training in Cecchetti Ballet at the age of 3, training at Dorothy Ind’s Chelsea Ballet School and professional classes in London with teachers including Laura Connor and Joan Hewson. While in London she also performed in productions of classics including ‘Swan Lake’ and ‘Coppelia’.
During two years in Tokyo, continuing her training at K Ballet and the Tokyo Ballet Company, she also discovered salsa and performed with a Latin troupe by the name of Sabor in Roppongi. Since returning to UK she has also worked with some contemporary and capoeira .
Alongside her training and performance Anna has over 10 years’ experience teaching ballet, which began with Starlight Theatre School in Golders Green and Chelsea Ballet School in Chelsea, where she was a former pupil.
On moving to Bristol she formed South West Dance Theatre with Laura Rowlands – who has sadly since left the company – and continues to act as director for the company, as well as choreographer and performer. SWDT draws on a range of dance disciplines to create fresh eclectic dance theatre.
